This genus was previously placed
in its own family of Ageneiosidae and you can still
find some publications that still follow this line.This specimen was collected in the Pirara
River Guyana (Amazon Basin) from a Donald Taphorn
expedition.Similar to Ageneiosus
ucayalensis.Aquarium Care: Although reputed
to be of a smaller size they could still prove to
be predatory as per this genera, so would need to
be kept with fish that are not too small. Diet:
Presumably meat based.
