This species is sympatric
with lineage 9 species Hoplisoma
simile and lineage
8 species Brochis
sp. (C066). Corydoras
sp.
(CW118) is the same variable
species. There is another look-a-like from the State
of Rondônia which has a different head shape
and the position of the caudal blotch. Lineage:
Placed in Lineage 1. When there is a revision they
will stay as Corydoras (Lacépède,
1803) with the type species of C. geoffroy
La Cépède, 1803. As
of the latest update (Dias
et al 2024), Corydoras
ourastigma has been placed in Lineage
1 and has retained the genus name of Corydoras.
Aquarium Care: As per this genus,
housed with non aggressive species or a species tank.
Buy at least 6 as they will stay together in the tank
which will make them feel more comfortable in their
surroundings. Diet: As per this genus
with a good quality flake food, tablet, frozen and
small worm foods.
