This long-snouted species
was found as a contaminant amongst imports of Hoplisoma
julii. Lineage:
Placed in Lineage 1 the "saddle-nosed" species
and when there is a revision and a description they
will stay as Corydoras (Lacépède,
1803) with the type species of C. geoffroy
La Cépède, 1803.As
of the latest update (Dias
et al 2024), Corydoras
sp. (C109) has been placed
in Lineage 1 and has retained the genus name of Corydoras.
Aquarium Care:As
this is one of the longer snouted species it will
be well suited to most community tanks. A well planted
tank with a soft substrate such as sand so they can
bury their snouts while searching out food. Diet:
Readily accepts a mixed and varied diet which includes
granular foods, tablet food, frozen bloodworm and
a good quality flake. Remarks:
C109 is a colour form of Corydoras
acutus.
