Similar looking to Corydoras
stenocephalus and C124
all from northern Peru and have been proven to be
the same species as C127. Lineage:
All from Northern Peru. A "Saddle nosed"
species which would place it in Lineage 1. When there
is a revision and a description they will stay as
Corydoras (Lacépède, 1803)
with the type species of C. geoffroy La Cépède,
1803. As
of the latest update (Dias
et al 2024), Corydoras
sp. (C127) has been placed
in Lineage 1 and has retained the genus name of Corydoras.
Aquarium Care: As this is one of
the longer snouted species it will be well suited
to most community tanks. A well planted tank with
a soft substrate such as sand so they can bury their
snouts while searching out food. Diet:
Readily accepts a mixed and varied diet which includes
granular foods, tablet food, frozen bloodworm and
a good quality flake. Remarks:
C127 is a colour form of C.
stenocephalus. C124
and C017 are also colour forms.
