CW060 is found in the same
river location as the snouted species CW059
and is reminiscent of C.
julii from further east in the Maranhão,
creek, Rio Parnaíba near Alto Parnaíba
and as such are very difficult to tell apart. Lineage:
Placed in Lineage 9, the "short-snouted"
species with the designated type species: C. punctatus.
A revision and description in the future would constitute
the resurrection of the genus name Hoplisoma
(Agassiz, 1846). Aquarium Care: This
is akin to most of this genus, very peaceful, and
would be best housed with small to medium tank mates
such as Tetras, Rasboras and Danios or in a species
tank for breeding purposes. Diet:
A good quality flake food and tablet food for adults
with sporadic feedings of frozen or live food will
keep your Corydoras in good health.
