Information:
Habitat: It
lives on rock bottoms, sand, mud; riparian, riparian
vegetation, allochthonous material; fast, moderate,
slow flow; margins smooth, abrupt, moderate; depth
between 0.30 1.20 m; currents of type 3, 2, 1 and
width between 5 and 25 m. Aquarium Care:
Peaceful towards conspecifics but territorial with
its own kind. Provide a moderate sized aquarium with
hiding places such as bogwood, rockwork and plants.
A good water flow is recommended with good aeration
and filtration. Diet: Live, frozen
and flake foods. Etymology: The genus
name of Imparfinis: Latin, impar = unequal
+ Greek, finis, pinna = wing, fin. The specific name
of nemacheir: nema-, thread; cheir, hand,
referring to first pectoral-fin rays prolonged beyond
rest of fin (more pronounced in females).
