Cordylancistrus has historically been the bin into which ichthyologists placed all 'Chaetostoma-like' loricariids that had fully-plated snouts but lacked the distinctive attributes of either Dolichancistrus (long pectoral-fin spines, at least one highly elongate cheek odontode) or Leptoancistrus (adipose and anal fins missing, at least one highly elongate cheek odontode) (Lujan, Nathan. 2019). Remarks: Found on some online searches as Dolichancistrus setosus which is now a synonym. |
