There are three species in
this genera, K.
subteres, K.
heylandi (Boulenger, 1900), and K. lacerta
(Nichols, 1919). Habitat:Inhabits
coastal streams with rocky and sandy bottom. Etymology:
The fish is named in honour of civil engineer Herbert
K. Heyland (1849-1944), who collected the type specimen
and presented the specimen to the British Museum to
be described. Remarks:
Redescribed in Gosline (1947: 106).
