This species was described
by Pellegrin from only one specimen and is said to
be identical to S. polydon from the same
catchment area of the Ogowe drainage. They may be
one and the same species and the only difference is
the teeth count, S.polydon 75; S.haugi
85. Colouration: The body of the
fish is a uniform brown or brown with indistinct darker
spots on the body and fins. Juveniles may also display
large dark brown spots on the sides. Etymology:
The specific name "huagi" is a tribute to
the original collector of the species.
