The first thumbnail image is
a hybrid from the Czech Republic which was imported
as Synodontis njassae to Segrest Farms a
Tropical Fish wholesaler based in Florida U.S.A. Segrest
states that if imported as S. njassae they
will in all probability be a hybrid species. This
species in the image is 5.5cm in length and does look
if there is a Lake Tanganyika species in there with
the advent of the white barbels. The 2nd, 3rd and
4th images are similar looking species from the same
source imported into Scotland in 2020. Remarks:
We have decided to label each alleged 'hybrid' or
unknown Synodontis species with SC numbers
(ScotCat numbers) to identify each species exclusive
to the ScotCat website.
