Description:
39 to 40 vertebrae (vs. 35-40), the first dorsal-
and anal-fin pterygiophores placed anteriorly to the
19th-20th neural spine and 23th-25th hemal spine of
the vertebral column, respectively (vs. anteriorly
to the 15th-21st; 20-24th, respectively). Habitat:
Cambeva tupinamba occurs exclusively in the
Ribeira de Iguape River basin. Colouration:
Distinguished from its congeners by the colour pattern
with a series of spots forming anteriorly (to the
anal-fin origin) a mid-lateral black stripe along
the trunk (vs. body with blotches or spots not forming
a mid-lateral stripe) (Donin
LM, Ferrer J, Carvalho TP. 2022).
Diet:
Will feed on most aquarium fare such as tablet, frozen
and live foods. Remarks:
Still found on some online sources as Trichomycterustupinamba.
